RC Toulon - Le Pilou-Pilou

Tous les fans du rugby en France connaissent l’existence du cri de guerre du RC Toulon, l’équivalent du haka des Blacks, sauf que le pilou-pilou se pratique avec la participation du public – donc quand vous assistez à un match au Stade Mayol du RCT avec ses vedettes comme Sir Jonny Wilkinson, Matt Giteau, Bakkies Botha et Frederic Michalak, c’est utile de connaitre les paroles ! Les voilà donc (avec une tentative de traduction pour les rosbifs comme moi):

Ah ! Nous les terribles guerriers du Pilou-Pilou
Qui descendons de la Montagne vers la Mer
Pilou-Pilou !
Avec nos femmes échevelées allaitent nos enfants
à l'ombre des grands cocotiers blancs
Pilou-Pilou !
Nous les terribles guerriers poussons notre terrible cri de guerre
AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH !
J'ai dit NOTRE TERRIBLE CRI DE GUERRE !

J'ai pu rencontré Cédric - le maître du Pilou-Pilou - (voir en bas de la page pour ce qui concerne l'élève anglais) :

Every rugby fan in France knows about the home game “war-cry” of RC Toulon, which can be likened to the haka of the All Blacks, except that the pilou-pilou is performed by the crowd – so when you go to the Stade Mayol to watch star players like Sir Jonny Wilkinson, Matt Giteau, Bakkies Botha and Frederic Michalak it helps to know the words ! So here they are (with an attempted translation for those of us not born in Provence):

Ah ! We the fierce warriors of Pilou-Pilou
Who descend from the mountains to the sea

With our hairy women breast feeding our children in the shade of the great white coconut trees   (not really sure about my translation here - can't imagine them shouting this at Harlequins !!)
