Elevation gain 1,921m
Riding Time 6 hrs 55 mins
Average Speed 25.2 km/h
Equals the longest stage of the Tour (Velaux-Montpellier), but with very different terrain and weather conditions ! Despite the amount of climbing today, the average speed was higher than on the flat stage through the Camargue when the wind was so strong.

The steep climb up to Duerne (35 km from my destination) was where the thunderstorm caught me - I had to take cover under a tree for 20 minutes (see video on Facebook). When the rain eased a bit I decided to get moving again, but too early as it turned out - a further downpour ensured I would not escape a cold shower !
After close to 7 hrs riding time I was happy to arrive at Stéphane and Bénédicte's place in Vernaison. Stéphane is a physiotherapist and treated my stiff legs to a very welcome massage :-)
Laurence should better get ready to give you those massages you are getting used to!
Hi Mark,
RépondreSupprimerI cannot believe how far you are already. While I was wining and dining in NY you mange to complete more than half the tour. I better start practising for the last etape....
Good luck for tomorrow is Paul there or are you staying the night at your ex?
Dear Anonyme
SupprimerNot quite sure what your last question refers to ??
